Frequently Asked Questions

  • No, I photograph untrained dogs all the time. Every case is different and we’ll customize our photo shoot based on what’s best for everyone involved. But if necessary, your untrained dog can remain on a leash that will be edited out afterwards. If, however, your dog is fearful or aggressive, it may be best to get training help before scheduling a photo shoot. Let me know your concerns during our initial consultation and we can come up with a good course of action for you and your dog.

  • To ensure the safety of all involved, any dogs photographed outside the confines of their owner’s private property will remained leashed at all times. But don’t worry! Leashes are digitally removed in the editing room and the final photos will show no signs of the leash.

  • Absolutely!  I love capturing the special relationship between you and your pet. Having said that, however, I am a pet photographer first and foremost, and my main focus will always be your pet(s). If you’re looking for more of a family portrait that includes your pet, there are other photographers better suited to that job. My style is candid and animal-centric. Your pet will always be the main star of my photos, with humans playing supporting roles.

  • Being located in the Pacific Northwest, we’re all too familiar with rainy days! I like to stay flexible and go with whatever works for each client. Some folks don’t mind a bit of drizzle, or are happy to move from an outdoor shoot to an indoor shoot. If, however, the weather is a definite issue on the day we’ve chosen for our shoot, we’ll simply work together to reschedule for another day & time.

  • Print products vary from framed prints to prints on high-quality materials such as canvas, acrylic, and bamboo. Once you’re ready to purchase, you can choose your items yourself, or we can set up a time to go through product offerings and I’d be happy to help you choose the best products for your space.

  • Most session fees include credit toward print products. Please check out our Sessions page for further details.

  • Digital files are not available for purchase at this time.

  • While the actual photo session lasts anywhere from 1-3 hours, the more intensive work begins after the shoot and does take time. Depending on the session you’ve booked, please allow anywhere from 1-3 weeks for your edited proofs to be available for viewing in a private, online gallery.

  • All photo sessions are pre-paid in advance in order to secure your booking. If you need to cancel your session (rather than reschedule), we will refund the full amount of your pre-payment if you cancel 14 days before the date of your booked session. If you cancel 7 days before your booked session, you will receive a 50% refund. Any cancelations (that are not rescheduled) with less than 7 days notice will forfeit the entire amount of their pre-payment.

  • Life happens and sometimes you’re simply unable to make the appointment you’ve set. If you need to postpone/reschedule (for reasons other than inclement weather), there is no fee and we will work with you to rebook your session for a day and time that works with both our schedules. If, however, postponing becomes habitual (more than twice), we reserve the right not to reschedule with you again, and you will lose your pre-payment. We do our absolute best to work with our clients to reschedule, but we ask that you respect our time and do your best to honor your commitment to the session we’ve booked for you.
